Feeling a slight tingling on her back she simply reached behind her head and scratched the offending spot. As it grew worse she knew it was going to happen again…
"I have to, go to… the bathroom!" Jumping up suddenly she walked quickly out of the room, turning the corner, when she didn't think anyone could see her she started running down the hallway. 'At least the meeting is almost over… Why is this happening now?! I thought I could control it! Especially around one of these!'
Finding the nearest opened door, she quickly slipped inside, hoping no one spotted her. No sooner had she closed the door behind her, but the tingling turn into stabbing pain. Sinking to her knees in the middle of the room, she kept both of her hands firmly clamped over her mouth so no one could hear her.
'Please stop, I don't want this to happen, what if someone sees me?' She tried to hold in her cries of pain as tears streaked down her face. Where they tears of pain, or shame…she wasn't sure.
She could feel her whole body shake as her wings forced themselves from her body. Wrapping her arms around herself she curled herself into a ball until her forehead touched the floor. She could only utter one word before she started to sob uncontrollably, "Damn…"

When she finally managed to pull herself together again, she looked at her wings. Most people would consider her full, golden wings to be magnificent, but she could only loathe them. Lifting some of the feathers she noticed that some of her down was turning red. She quickly she let the golden feathers fall back into place not wanting to believe what she had just witnessed.
'Stupid me! Stupid blood!!! I cannot hate my parents for this, they can't help what they are…no, were. But I don't want any of it!!' She wrapped her arms around herself, sighing she rested her head on her drawn up knees. 'I just want to be normal, a normal girl.' She remembered how she had joined Girl Scouts just to be closer to normal girls; find out how they act, what they think…what it's like to be normal.
Peaking out of the room to see if she was missed yet, she looked over at the entrance to the church. At first she had thought it odd that a Girl Scout troop hold their meetings in building adjoining to a church, it wasn't like they prayed or anything… She longed to open those huge wooden doors and walk into the church; she could try and pray for her father's forgiveness again. Though she was sure that she would not be answered…again. Absently she pulled one of the lose feathers out of her right wing. Looking down at it she cursed herself, she couldn't let things like that become a habit, that would mean she was accepting what she was…
"Why isn't the holy energy of the church affecting me? Shouldn't I feel something; peace, hatred, anything?!" Willing her wings to return, she straightened her back and walked out of the room heading for the church doors. She was painfully aware that her Girl Scout uniform blouse was badly torn in the back, but she walked forward with all of the dignity she could muster.
'I am not afraid, they can't hurt me! I'm kin, if only half!' She silently pushed the doors opened. She cringed as they swung open freely, was she expected? "I'm not afraid of you, I was before, but not any longer!" She muttered under her breath. She closed the doors behind herself, she knew the girls would start worrying about her soon, she was determined to make this as short as she could. 'If they find out… they… I… No! They won't find out! There is nothing to find out, I'm normal!'
She looked around her, she felt almost like her heart stopped. The radiance of the holy aura was almost overpowering to her. She never remembered moving, but blinked, finding herself standing before the idle of the Virgin Mary. Sinking to one knee she bowed her head in homage. {No! You can't do this}, half of her screamed! {You must destroy it, defile it, you must not revere it!} She quickly shoved the voice into the back of her head, she has learned to never listen to that half of herself.
"Please, Oh Forgiving Mother, one of you children has strayed and sinned. I, your humble daughter, Serafina, have come to you once again to ask you to forgive him. He was mislead at first, then he sinned out of love…" she stopped, gasping she raised her head in shock… had her father really sinned out of love? She was sure her parents loved her, and love each other…now, but had they then. Her body started to tremble as she considered this possibility, she was shaking so bad she could no longer kneel. She sat, staring blankly with tears streaming down her face, this had never occurred to her ever before. Was her father a traitor? No, she couldn't think of him that way, not after he cared for her though all of her hard times, letting her see both sides to every issue.
She wrapped her arms around herself and curled into a ball again. "Please Holy Mother, please give me answers!!" She screamed.
One of the other Girl Scouts must have heard her cry for the doors burst open and three girls ran into the room.
"Oh my god!! Sera, what happened to you? Look at you, are you alright?" One of the girls ran over to her, she could vaguely remember the girl's name was Ashley. "Jen, come over here, help me!"
Sera couldn't look up, was this her answer? Or was this only a coincidence?
"Marie, quick, go and get the Leader!" Ashley ordered the other girl.
'Ashley's taking charge again, like she always does' Sera almost smiled though she was still crying. Their Troop Leader came rushing into the room followed by Marie. She took one look at Sera and quickly scooped her into her arms, she had never noticed it before, but Sera was unusually light, though she wasn't extremely thin. Cradling the crying child close to her, their Leader, Ms. Winthrop, walked back into the meeting room. The meeting was apparently over, most of the girls had left, all but the three that had found her.
"Ashley, Marie, and Jen, you may all go once you parents come." Ms. Winthrop gave then a look telling them it might be better if she was alone with Sera. "What happened to you? Was someone in the building that wasn't supposed to be?"
Sera looked up at her with her tear-streaked face, "Yes, there was someone in the building that wasn't supposed to be." She whispered. 'Me…'
"Do you know who it was, dear? Did they do this to you?" Ms. Winthrop's face was full of concern.
Sera turned her face away, she stared at her hands. "No, the person didn't… I'm not sure how this happened, I might have gotten it snagged on something." Sera hated lying to her Leader like this. 'Daddy said I was supposed to live up to my name…how am I supposed to be a 'heavenly, winged angel'? I'm too afraid they'll hate me for being the freak I am…'
"You're mother should be here soon, I'll wait with you." Ms. Winthrop helped her walk outside to wait on the sidewalk; Sera sat down and pulled her knees up. "Sera, are you sure you alright? Are you sure nothing happened?"
Sera rested her head on her knees, "I'm sure, nothing happened… nothing at all." Sera didn't look up when her mother drove up. Looking down at her daughter, her mother knew exactly what had happened.
"Hello, Mrs. Rivka, I'm afraid we had a little crises on our hands today. Though Sera won't tell me what exactly happened, she told me that there was a stranger in the church today, though I don't know why she was there, she knows it is off limits… I hope she feels better." Ms. Winthrop said through the opened window.
"I'll talk to her when we get home." Mrs. Rivka smiled and waved as they drove off.

"When did it happen, honey?" Mrs. Rivka asked Sera after they got home. Her father hadn't come home from work yet.
"When the meeting was almost over… Why does this happen to me?" Sera sat in the kitchen with her hands folded on her lap.
"I don't know, honey, nothing like this has ever happened before. Demons and angels are supposed to hade each other, we are raised that way…" Mrs. Rivka laid her hand comfortingly on her daughter's shoulder.
"I know… I'm the first half breed!" Sera turned her head away from her mother, though she looked normal, Sera could sense her demon aura.
"Don't say that! You know we love you, you should be proud of the strength in your blood. And if you are going to be mad at anyone, be mad at me! I'm the one who caused this all to happen." Mrs. Rivka hugged her daughter tightly.

                                                            *               *               *

"Where am I? How'd I get here?!" Sera found she was in a dark room.
A faint light attracted her attention. Slowly walking towards it Sera tried to get her bearings; it was frustrating when she realized that the only thing she could make out saw the faint light. Sera could feel something stir inside her as she became angry. She was only a few feet from where the faint light was visible when a bright light blinded her.
"Who's there? Why am I here?" Sera squinted into the light while trying to shield her eyes with her arms. When the light dimmed to a more tolerable degree, she could make out a figure standing a few feet to her right.
'Shit!' She knew she had to get out there as quickly as she could. Back stepping as quickly as she could, she tried to avoid the stranger's lunge. He was quicker and grabbed her right wrist before she could get out reach. Turning her so she would have to face him, he took hold of her other wrist. Sera tried to kick him, though he read her body language and kneed her in the stomach before she could land her own blow. He pulled her arms out to her sides so she could not avoid looking at him.
"I want to know the truth about you, little one!" He hissed, his face only inches away from hers.
"I-I don't know what you're talking about!" She tried to turn her head away from him, but this only resulted in him pulling her closer.
"I think you do!" acting with lightning speed she let her wrists go, but tore her shirt off. Sera screamed in both rage and embarrassment.
"That's right, lose your temper!" He seemed to have an unnatural glow in his eyes.
Holding her arms protectively over her chest she was unaware that her wings had emerged. She glared at the strange man with all of her whole being, how dare this man treat her like this! She didn't know who he was, but he apparently knew a lot about her.
"That is what I thought." The man crossed his arms over his chest and nodded like his theory had just been proven.
"What the hell are you talking about?!" She extended her wings to their full length unconsciously.
Smiling the man simply said, "Your wings…"
Looking over her should, Sera, gasped to see her wing fully spread… she hadn't even felt them emerge. Holding back tears she saw all of her golden feathers had turned blood red, and at the joint, a little claw emerged from in-between the feathers. Pulling her wings around her she sank down onto her knees.
"Don't look at me… Please stop. Don't look at me!! STOP!!" Screaming she sat-up in bed. 'Was it a dream?! No, it had to have been something else! It might-!' Looking around Sera saw a small circle of red feathers surrounded her. 'No! It's bad enough I have to be like this… but I'm NOT going to be their stupid bloody fallen angel!' Getting out of bed, Sera pulled on the cloths that were closest. "I'm going to find something out!" She growled under her breath.
Walking outside she closed her eyes, letting her senses tell her where to go. Deep inside she felt a slight tugging in the left direction. Walking she wasn't sure what she was expecting to find, she only knew she would find some answers at the end of this path.

She could feel the pull getting stronger, closing her eyes she had to calm herself, the pull was so strong it almost made her start to run. The urge calling her suddenly stopped, she had arrived at her destination. Opening her eyes, she was mildly surprised to find herself standing on the bottom step of the door leading to the place where her Girl Scout meetings are held. 'A little ironic isn't it?' She slowly walked up the concrete steps.
Reaching out to open the door, Sera noticed her hand was trebling. 'What's there to be afraid of… What is there it be afraid of?' Frowning, she pushed the door opened. Looking around she noticed the church door was opened. Holding her breath she entered.
"W-What are you doing here?!" Sera was shocked to find the same man from her dream kneeing before the Virgin Mary.      " 'Praise the Lord, all you servants of the Lord who minister by night in the house of the Lord. Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and praise the Lord. May the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth, bless you from Zion.' Psalm 134: 1 - 3 NIV." He slowly rose from his kneeling position and faced Sera.
"That doesn't explain anything! What do you want with me? How did you know what I really was?" Sera had to clench her hands into fists to stop them from shaking.
"I want you to listen to something…" He pulled out a small CD player from a bag that had been sitting next to him on the floor. He gently placed the headphones on her head.
"I don't want to listen to anything from you!" She tried to pull away from him and throw the headphones on the ground.
Wrapping his arms around her, pinning her arms to her chest, he whispered. "Just listen," and he pushed the play button.
'You found hope, you found faith, found how fast she could take it away,
Found true love, lost your heart; now you don't know who you are.
She made it easy, made it free, made you hurt 'till you couldn't see,
Sometimes it stops, sometimes it flows; baby, that is how love goes.

You will fly and you will crawl,
                     God knows even angels fall,
No such thing as you've lost it all,
                     God knows even angels fall.

It's a secret, no one tells; one day it's heaven, 'n one day it's hell,
It's no fairytale, take it from me, that's the way it's supposed to be.

Note: I will put in the rest of the song if I get permission to use it

Sera felt that pressure holding her arms pinned lessen and release. She whipped a tear off of her check, and passed the man his headphones back. She walked over and sat in the nearest pew. 'Is this my answer? Why is he giving it to me? Who is he?'
"Who sang that?" Sera did not want to look at the man.
"Jessica Riddle." He placed the CD player back into the bag.
Sera sat there in silence with her forehead resting on her clasped hands. Remembering the stranger she looked-up angrily.
"Who are you?! How do you know so much about me?" Sera rose to her feet approaching the man.
"I'll answer the 'who I am' first. I go by Jerry, though my real name is Jerom." Jerry slide one hand into his pocket.
"Jerom? But, that means 'holy man', you don't-" Sera was cut off as Jerry smiled and a pair of pure white wings surfaced.
"You- you're!" Sera backed away quickly until her back was against the side of the pew. 'What does he want with me? Is he going to hurt me? I-I don't know what to do!'
"Let me see your wings, little one, you shouldn't hide them." He smiled at Sera.
"D-don't hurt me!" Sera reluctantly released her wings, casting a quick glance to the side she was relieved to see they were still golden on the surface.
"Come over and let me see them better" Jerry motioned for her to approach him.      "I-I don't think you would like to see them any better! I don't want you to!" Sera had to try to keep from shaking.      "You needn't be afraid of me, little one." Jerry took a step towards Sera. "What is your name, little one?"      "I'm Sera… Stay away from me!" She dodged out from in front of the pew.      "Is it just Sera?" His voice was soft and calming, though it did nothing to help Sera's panic.      "Well, it's Serafina. Stop looking at me like that, I know you think of me as a freak, don't try and hide it!" Sera tried to run out of the church door but another figure emerged before she could reach it. It was a tall slender man.
" 'Heavenly, winged angel', how appropriate." The figure dashed forward and pinned Sera to the wall by her throat.      "Let me go!" Sera tried to pry his had off of her throat while kicking him as hard as she could, but none of it was having any effect on the tall man at all.
"How dare you defile this holy place with you malevolence!" Jerry charged at the tall man.
"This place might be holy, but I've been sent here to wipeout a little smudge that is tarnishing the demon society." Sera could feel the man's hand tighten with each word, she was trying to hold her breath for as long as she could.
'Am I going to die? Where will my spirit go if I die? Demons hate me, I'm not sure if the angels like me very much either…' Sera could feel her consciousness slipping away when the hand left her throat. Falling to the floor, she fought to regain full consciousness.
She was dimly aware that she was being lifted before losing her grasp on consciousness completely.

Opening her eyes, Sera felt a wave of disorientation hit her. Struggling to sit up she felt a hand hold her protectively down. Turning her head she saw Jerry sitting next to her.
"How do you feel, little Sera?" Jerry smiled.
"I…" Sera gingerly touched her throat, she could tell it was badly bruised.
"You've felt better haven't you?" Jerry rose, but Sera caught his hand.
"Why did you save me? I'm just a half-breed." She tried to sit-up again.
"You're not 'just a half-breed', you are proof that angels and demons aren't that different." He left her to think about what he had told her.
While Jerry wasn't looking, Sera unfolded her wings. She looked over the feathers, some of the top layer had started to darken from gold. She couldn't control it, she was going to become the Bloody Fallen Angel. Jerry turned, noticing Sera's discomfort and walked back over.
"What's wrong, little Sera?" He sat down next to her.
"I'm going to become the Bloody Fallen Angel. Look…" Sera lifted some of her feathers to show him the blood red down. "No matter what I do, they keep turning… I-I just… I just want…" Sera couldn't finish, she couldn't contain her feelings anymore. She started sobbing in her hands. She didn't notice when Jerry pulled her closer to him and held her protectively.
"It'll be alright, shhh…" Jerry gently rocked her back and forth.
